Cosenza, Italy
Cosenza is in the province of Calabria the southern-most province in Italy. It is about 508 km from Rome. It is situated in the valley of the Crati and Busento rivers. The population is 75,000 inhabitants.
The historical center of the city has been preserved and is being restored through the work of the community. Palaces, public squares, and roads are being restored. The center is the public square of the Dome, a XIII century cathedral and the Render's Theater.
New Cosenza is the commerce center. It distinguishes itself by applying tradition and innovation to the city. Tourism is promoted. Cosenza sits between the Tyhrenian Sea and the plateau of Sila producing landscapes of great beauty.
The University of Cosenza was started 25 years ago and encourages the exchange of cultures of others and is open to young people of the world.
