Language, Travel and Currency

The predominant language of the United States is English; the principal monetary unit is the U.S. dollar. Tourist visa and valid passport are required for travel to the U.S.. There is a sophisticated infrastructure of highways, rail lines, air travel, automobiles, and buses across the country. In many regions and locales, the Spanish language is strongly present, and in keeping with a long history of immigration, one can encounter a myriad of tongues from Russian to Mandarin in any of the major American cities.
